Live Updates:

9:25am Jason is recovering slowly but surely. Lots of rest and fluids.
The Finish Line Party is on — but we are shortening it to 11-2 because of bas weather expected in Toronto this afternoon (bring umbrellas). CAMH Foundation will be at the Legion at 12 to talk about where the money Jason raised is going — would love to have as many of you there at noon as we can. Again, even the event details are here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1326693661611845?active_tab=about

5:19am Party at Legion Branch 344 is still a go - we will be there at 11am. If Jason is well and rested enough he will join. More details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1326693661611845

4:36am Jason’s sleeping at Avery’s parent’s apartment downtown. He had a warm shower at the marina, puked, took a Gravol, rallied and headed to sleep. Was asleep the minute his head hit the pillow. Working on getting all the crew home safe.

3:00am The swim is over. They had to pull Jason because he was too cold - at about the 38km mark. He’s on the big boat and I talked to him on the phone. He’s okay, but disappointed. He did the most incredible thing and we are all so proud of him. He raised over $54,000 for CAMH and pushed himself to his absolute limit. We couldn’t be prouder. Glad he is safe, out of the water and getting warm. Heading to the marina to meet them. Bringing warm soup and cold fried chicken. More later.

August 12, 12:24am Pace has slowed down - but Jason is pushing on. New end time is anticipated around 6am. The crew will give another update around 3am.

8:36pm Just Facetimed with the boat crew. Jason’s killing it. Is pacing for an arrival probably between 2:30am and 4:30am, barring any changes (which I will update here). Rain is scheduled to start about 2am. Rain doesn’t bother Jason, just wet for the crew. Crossing our fingers for no lightning. Everyone feeling good — it’s getting dark now. The real challenge begins. Jason’s parent will head out with him at 10pm in the zodiac and will stay there until he’s done.

6:44pm About an hour ago Jason reached the halfway point of his swim!! Incredible!! Just over 9 hours. He sent Audie a video with a mantra they both were going to say in their heads at 5:30pm and told her to go to bed quick for mommy. Pace now is just under 3km/hour.

4:30pm Pacers are in and pace is 2.5km per hour. They are about 45% down with 22.5 completed at almost exactly 8 hours. Pace was 3.5km per hour when the current was with him, now it’s against him. Sorry for the late update — I was driving in Toronto traffic.

1:32pm from Korey (spotter crew) “Water has calmed down. CN is in sight! He’s feeling great. Team is doing well. Freighter ship Path crossing was wild but exciting!” (See Instagram for freighter images)

11:29am Boats are finally not rocking as much. A little bit of crew sea sickness and now everyone has their sea legs under them. Photos and video in his story at instagram.com/kloss2cross. GPS tracker - button above.

10:02am The rough waters from the mouth of the river have calmed down, and Jason‘s through his first feed. Keeping good pace in good spirits.

Aug 11 8:26am Jason is off!

Aug 10 10:44pm: Swim departure moved to between 7-8am at Queen’s Royal Park in Niagara-On-The-Lake. GPS tracking will begin then. Arrival time in Toronto estimated sometime after 2:00am Saturday.
